August 19th-May 28th. Mondays and Fridays students work from home and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays school starts at 8:23am. School dismissal times are TK/K at 2:00pm, 1st/2nd at 2:15pm, and 3rd-7th at 2:45pm. Journey Christian School will be using the BJU Press curriculum
Community Service
As we enter the 2025-2026 school year, JCS 3rd-7th students grade will participate in community service.
Mark 10:45– “For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
JC Students 3rd-7th will be required to complete 8 hours of community service for the schoolyear. Community Service Verification Forms are available online or in the school office. We will have 2-4 hours built into the school day so they will get credit as long as they are here that day. If they are absent when we have community service days planned, there will not be school day community service make-ups. Students in 3rd-7th grade that have missed a school day community service will need to complete additional outside community service to complete his/her required 8 hours.
Examples built into the school days: Letters to Veterans, Making gift bags for the elderly, Thanksgiving food drive, etc…
Examples for outside of the school day: Food drive at Journey Community Church or any food drive, beach clean ups, making food and delivering to the homeless, etc….
